Performance

• Can I use the cabinet for items that are labelled as not suitable for tumble drying?

  Absolutely, Peko Drying Cabinets were designed with this in mind! They are suitable for all fabrics – even woollens and silk garments.  The level of heating inside the cabinet can be adjusted to suit the contents.

• What are the manufacturing approvals?

  Manufactured to ISO9001 standard, independently tested and accredited, and CE marked.

• How do I dispose of my old drying cabinet?

  The cabinets are designed and built to offer an expected lifetime of use (with exception to serviceable parts). Should you wish to dispose of the cabinet, this can be undertaken under the terms and conditions of the WIEE Directive.

• Are drying cabinets suitable for outdoor clothing?

  Yes, Peko Drying Cabinets are an ideal solution for drying and protecting outdoor clothing and footwear.

• Availability of service and spare parts

  We have a long term commitment to provide service and replacement parts for all cabinets sold within the PEKO range. Our stock of spare parts includes those for cabinets that were produced over forty years ago.

• Can a drying cabinet be used for all types of clothing?

  Yes, drying cabinets are suitable for drying all types of clothing and fabrics, including sportswear, outdoor clothing, and footwear.  They have many commercial and industrial applications, such as the fire & rescue services, airport handling services, golf clubs, theatres, and construction companies.

• What is the best cabinet for me?

  PEKO Equipment offers a range of drying cabinets suitable for many different applications. The main factors to consider are: drying times, capacity, and whether ventilation is possible. • Can I purchase a cabinet with condenser drying / heat pump technology?

  Yes, the ECO Dryer 2.0 HP drying cabinet uses heat pump technology. Vented cabinets can also be operated in conjunction with a separate condenser box to prevent the build up moisture in the room. Condenser boxes can be purchased from independent suppliers.

Installation

• What materials do you recommend for venting the cabinet?

  Rigid plastic or metal is preferred, although for short distances flexible hose is acceptable.

• Is there a requirement for fresh air into the room in which the cabinet is located?

  No, unless located in a small room, closet or built-in furniture. If this is the case, ventilation should then be taken into account.

• What services are required for the installation of a drying cabinet?

  An electrical power supply is required and, depending on the model, a ventilation hose or ducting may be needed to take the moist air to the outside of the building. Please consult the Installation and Operating Manuals for more information. A wall (or rigid structure) is also required to securely attach the cabinet and prevent it from tipping forward.

• Is the drying cabinet a freestanding appliance?

  No. All cabinets must be fixed to a wall to prevent the possibility of tipping forward when loaded.  Failure to do so may invalidate the warranty.

• Does the cabinet require venting to the outside of the building?

  Yes.  Full details available on request and described in the Installation and Operating Manuals. If the room is very spacious or benefits from an existing mechanical extraction system, then a dedicated ventilation ducting pipe may not be required.

• Can I fit an external fan to assist with the extraction of moist air when the cabinet is located far from an external wall, window or roof outlet?

  Yes.  The optimum rate of air to be extracted from the cabinet will depend on the model. An external fan may be required.  The design of such a system should be carried out by a suitably qualified ventilation engineer. Please consult the Installation and Operating Manuals.

• How much space is required to install a drying cabinet?

  Please click here to view the dimension drawings and to assess the area required to open the door(s). Walkways and routes to outside emergency exits should also be taken into account.

• What are the warranty terms?

  12 months parts and labour (serviceable parts may be on a return-to-supplier basis). Full terms and conditions available on request.
